Dave Carrano
was born in New Haven, Connecticut. He knew when he was a kid that he wanted to play the drums. After incessantly banging and tapping on all his mother's furniture, his parents finally conceded and bought him his first set of drums and a set of earplugs for themselves. That was a proud moment in his life, a set of sparkling red Ludwig drums! After practicing and playing the drum solo in the song "Wipeout" over and over again, his parents knew this was no passing fad and quickley moved Dave and his drumset to a soundproofed basement. His parents contined to encourage him to play and to take lessons and musical training.
In the early 70's, Dave landed his first opportunity to play professionally with a local established group called Genesis and after contemplating several offers to go on the road - he eventually started his own group called the Majestics. They were very succesful in both the niteclub and wedding circuits for many years. Although Dave's musical style is pretty diverse these days, his major musical influences over the years have been Earth, Wind, and Fire, Huey Lewis and the News and Chicago.
Today, Dave says he is proud to be able to blend his musical talents with Paul and Dee! Despite the competition from DJ's, he believes that our unique infusion of live music and digital electronics has allowed PHASE II to become one of the most competetive versatile working bands in the area. Truthfully, Dave says he believes that their success has been attributed to the right combination of people who have a lot of fun at what they do; Entertain!
